We had a really great Worship Leader Roundtable Retreat this week. We spent the first afternoon building relationships and talking through real life challenges in worship ministry, then capped off the day with a time of refreshing worship that evening with David Baroni. For our late-activity we heard some great original songs by our worship leaders in attendance.

The next morning David had breakfast with songwriters and gave some insight into how he approaches his writing. It was very practical and applicable. We finished out the day with a couple of teaching sessions by David and his wife, Rita, then an hour of open forum Q & A.

This is going to be an awesome getaway with purpose… We’ll be spending time getting to know everyone a little better, having fun, sharing ideas and growing together. David Baroni is going to be sitting around with us and sharing from his heart in a real casual and intimate setting overlooking the Conodoguinet Creek. Last year was a huge success and we’re still hearing testimonies of relationships that were formed and inspiration received. PLEASE consider setting aside a couple of half days to join us.

CHURCH MINISTRIES LEADERSHIP TRAINING SUMMIT – Sept. 26 (Monroeville) & Oct. 3 (Reading)

Geared toward the training volunteer leadership in the church, this event will feature 4 breakout sessions focusing on some key practical and logistical challenges of local church worship team ministry.  Bring your whole worship team for a great day of team-building and growth.

Our first ever Northeast Worship & Media Conference (hosted by the PennDel Music & Worship Network) held in Sept., 2008 was a great success with excellent attendance, quality exhibitors, top-notch clinicians & guest artists and some dynamic times of worship.

We knew immediately that this would become a recurring event, it was just the frequency that had to be determined.  The leadership has determined that the investment of time, energy and volunteer efforts will be maximized if we make the full-scale conference an “every 2 year” event. This will also give us the opportunity to implement 2 other new events in 2009 that will meet some unique needs — a retreat geared toward worship leaders and a training summit for worship team members that will be held in 2 different geographical locations across the district.

Our worship and media conference last weekend was a huge success! Months and months of planning and the efforts of many people resulted in a great event with 315 registrants from 50 different churches, more than 20 exhibitors, 25 volunteers & staff and some incredible special guest artists & clinicians. Many of our registrants and exhibitors couldn’t believe this was our first conference and stated they will definitely be back next year.  I can’t count the number of people who said, “I wish we would’ve brought more people!  We didn’t realize it was going to be this good.”

Thank the Lord for helping us with all the details.  We learned a LOT and will build on this experience to make future conferences even more relevant and productive for all who attend.
